Agriculture

Permanently transform your land's physical structure.

Biochar acts as an underground reservoir that protects your harvest against water stress, reduces fertilizer bills, and stimulates root development from day one.

Biochar in the field

Benefits of biochar in the field

Biochar is chemically stable for more than 1,000 years (certified MRT). A single, correctly activated application permanently modifies the soil architecture.

Improved soil fertility

Its microporous structure fixes nutrients at the root and prevents nitrogen and phosphorus leaching, reducing dependence on synthetic fertilizers.

Greater water retention

It acts as a natural sponge that retains available moisture, increasing drought tolerance in critical months by up to 25%.

Input and cost savings

It optimizes irrigation efficiency and allows for a 20% to 40% reduction in the use of phosphate fertilizers in each campaign.

Aerated and porous soil

Its 380 m²/g surface area decompresses the soil, improves root oxygenation, and prevents waterlogging during heavy rains.

Protection and active microbiology

It serves as a refuge for mycorrhizal fungi and beneficial bacteria, protecting them from extreme heat and strengthening the plant against pathogens.

Permanent effect (>1,000 years)

Unlike conventional organic amendments, it does not degrade. A single activated application transforms the soil structure forever.

Two solutions

SOLUTIONS

Two specialised solutions based on olive biochar

Pure Carboliva Biochar

Pure Carboliva Biochar must be activated before applying it to the ground (or used as livestock bedding to be charged with nutrients); otherwise, it will absorb water and fertiliser from the soil.

Who it is for:

Farms with their own compost, slurry, or microbiology, and livestock or poultry farms looking for a dual use.

Handling:

Requires mandatory prior activation (1:3 mixture by volume for 7-14 days in wet conditions) or direct use as livestock bedding before going to the field.

Advantages:
  • Maximum retention surface area.
  • “Free” activation on the farm: It absorbs moisture, reduces ammonia, and leaves the building loaded with nutrients, ready to apply to the soil without extra work.
  • Competitive cost per tonne.

Activated Carboliva Biochar

(Biochar + Compost)

With Activated Carboliva Biochar you get speed: it comes ready with compost and microorganisms to act from the first irrigation without prior preparation.

Who it is for:

Farms looking for immediate nutrition and direct application without spending labour on activation.

Handling:

Listo para usar. It is incorporated into the ground using a traditional fertiliser spreader, at the bottom of the furrow, or localised in the planting line without any risk of immobilising nutrients.

Advantages:
  • Zero prior preparation
  • Immediate effect
  • Safe nutrition: It arrives charged so as not to absorb fertiliser from the soil or slow down the crop.
  • Ease of application: Granules optimised for spreaders, without clogs or caking in the hopper.

Productive Impact and Economic Benefit

+15% to +25%

water retention

Reduces irrigation frequency in critical summer months and retains moisture in the root zone.

Source

20% a 40%

phosphorus savings

Unlocks nutrients fixed in the soil and prevents fertilisers from being washed away by leaching.

Source

+0.3 to +0.8%

organic matter

Direct increase in organic carbon in soil analyses from 24 months onwards.

Source

-20% to -40%

ammonia NH₃ on the farm

Absorbs moisture in livestock and poultry bedding, improving animal welfare and loading the bedding with nutrients.
